"NATIONAL EDUCATION DAY" - 'NOVEMBER 11'.
The parliament had inserted Article 21-A, The Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education (RTE) Act , 2009 by
Eighty-sixth Amendment (86th) Act, 2002 in the Constitution of India,
to provide free and compulsory education of all children in the age group of six to fourteen years as a Fundamental Right in such a manner as the State may, by law, determine.
The Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education (RTE) Act, 2009, (based on 86th amendment), which represents the consequential legislation envisaged under Article 21-A, means that every child shall receive quality elementary education irrespective of their economic or caste background; this includes children who are forced to drop out of school. Because elementary education is must for personality building of a child, as 06 to 14 years are the base - building ages, of life.
Therefore every child has given a right to full time elementary education of satisfactory and equitable quality in a formal school which satisfies certain essential norms and standards.
RIGHT TO EDUCATION ACT 2009

Right to Education Act (RTE), enacted on 4 August 2009 forced upon 1 April 2010
India became one of, 135 countries, to make education as Fundamental right.
FEATURES OF THE RTE ACT (2009)
It clarifies that 'compulsory education' means providing free elementary education to every child between the said ages and it's obligation of the appropriate government to complete the process like, compulsory admission, attendance and elementary education.
'Free' means that no child shall be liable to pay any fees or charges or expenses which can prevent them from continuing and completing elementary education.
• Specifically, appropriate contracts, local authority and parental duties, responsibilities, financial and other responsibilities between the central and state governments in providing free and compulsory education.
• Makes provisions for a non-admitted child to be admitted to an age appropriate class.
• Set standards - standards related to student-teacher ratio (PTR), buildings and infrastructure, school working days, teacher's working hours.
• Provides for the deployment of teachers by ensuring a specified ratio of student and teacher for each school, rather than just an average, for a state or district or block, thus making it an urban-rural balance in the deployment of teachers. It also prohibits the deployment of teachers for non-academic work except elections held for local Authority, State Legislative Assembly and Parliament, for disaster relief and for the ten-year census.
• Appointment of suitably trained teachers i.e., with professional degree. Also, provision of training facilities for teachers.
• Restricts - corporal punishment and mental harassment, capitation fee , Private tuition by teachers and prohibiting the running of schools without government recognition.
• Academic authority while laying down the development of curriculum and evaluation procedure for elementary education, will make sure that it would be according to values enshrined in the constitution, which has to be child centred, child friendly, overall development of child, learning through activities, increase knowledge, potential and talent of childrens, make them free from fear, trauma and anxiety.
"Education lies on concurrent list. Both, the Central and the state governments can make laws in the Concurrent List".
Central and state governments shall have concurrent responsibilities for providing funds for carrying out provisions for this Act.
बेटी बचाओ, बेटी पढ़ाओ
Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao (BBBP) scheme was launched on 22 January 2015 by Honorable PM Narendra Modi. On the occasion of International Day of the Girl Child in 2014, the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi had called for the eradication of female foeticide. And scheme was launched with an initial funding of Rs.100 crore , it mainly targets the clusters in UttarPradesh,haryana, Uttarakhand, Punjab, bihar and Delhi.
It aims to address the issue of the declining child sex ratio image (CSR) and is a national initiative jointly run by the Ministry of Women and Child Development, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and the Ministry of Education. It initially focused multi-sector action in 100 districts throughout the country where there was a low CSR. Also, it is to protect girls from early marriage and aftermaths of early marriage. To make girls independent and to secure their future by making them educated.
It implement a sustained social mobilization and communication campaign to create equal value for the girl child and promote her education.
To use the Chhattisgarh education portal, it will be mandatory to register on it. After the registration, it will be possible to take advantage of all the facilities, from E-Class to Academic Games. Through the portals, the school students will cover their syllabus very easily which is going far behind. It will be possible to study all subjects from class 1 to 10 on the portal.
Now it will be the effort of the state government that more and more children be added to it so that all of them can use their time properly through online classes.
National Education Day
India’s First Education Minister 'Maulana Abul Kalam Azad'.He was born on November 11, 1888.He served the country from 1947 to 1958 as the first minister of Education in Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru's cabinet.
A reformer, a poet, a scholar, a journalist and a freedom fighter, he contributed to the formation of India along with many leaders.
Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, not merely a scholar but was committed to building the nation through education.
Maulana Abul Kalam Azad was the man behind the IITs and many key institutes in the country. IIT kharagpur in 1951, was laid under his leadership. He also emphasized the setting up of Indian Institute of Science or IISc Bangalore.
In 1920, he was invited and elected as a member of the foundation committee of Jamia Millia Islamia at Aligarh in Uttar Pradesh. In 1934 he assisted in the shifting of the campus of Jamia Millia Islamia to New Delhi.
The first Education Minister of a free India, responsible for setting up of the Central Institute of Education in Delhi. Lately, known as the Department of Education under Delhi university.
Also, he set up University Grants Commission in 1953 and But by far, his largest contribution to the country were the Indian Institutes of Technology.
He truly believed in the potential of IITs and said, ''I have no doubt that the establishment of this Institute will form a landmark in the progress of higher technological education and research in the counry."
Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) had decided on September 11, 2008, to celebrate
"November 11 as National Education Day every year".
EDUCATION
Education is a lifelong process of development as in from cradle to coffin . Education is base of life and for luxury. Education provides overall development of a child physically, mentally, morally, psychologically, culturally,emotionally, spiritually. It should always be child centred and it needs various elements to process but the main factors of education are - Curriculum, Teachers, Students, educational institution. All works in a single same frame to nourish the future. Teachers role is subsidiary.
Education makes beast - a human being, disciplined and kind,
and is capable to prevent crimes upto an extent.
An education system which is effective will make a Nation potential for growth in terms of vocational development.
